Now this is fishing

From Guts to Glory...the story of 2 extreme fishing trips.

Now I haven't been fishing long, but when we went out to Lake Erie on Saturday in 40 degree weather, that was not very pleasant.

Going from that to 80 degree weather was like the difference between night and day.

John Taylor took Jonathan and me out to Lake Erie again. It was a blast. We were fishing for silver bass this time, and Jonathan caught the most fish. He caught about 15 (8 or 10 of those were by himself. The video below is the first one that he caught all by himself (from casting, to hooking the fish, to reeling it in).

Silver bass are not good eating fish (based on what I've been told), so after catching them we would just throw them back.

Julia was disappointed that she could not come, but all week, she told me that she was not interested (probably based on the experience of our previous trip). Right before we left, she revealed one of her womanly characteristics (no, she didn't cry or nag), she changed her mind. Now she was ready to go, but since she already planned not to go, we told her that she would have to go the next time.

In talking to people who have fished a lot, they tell me that after this profitable fishing trip, Jonathan will now be spoiled; since fishing does not usually consist of catching that many fish in such a short period of time. I hope we have many future fishing trips that we can tell you about, but for now I'm going to leave you with these few pictures.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention...There was one point when Jonathan caught 2 fish at once. It was amazing. He had a streak where with 5 casts, he caught 5 fish, and one of those casts he didn't catch one.
