More Fishing Trip Pics

Saturday was a very cold morning. We left at 6:00 AM. The temperature on land was about 45 degrees, and it is usually 10 degrees colder on the lake. Subtract the wind chill, and your talking nearly freezing temperatures. In addition to these cold temps, the boat was not standing still. We had to ride about 3 miles out into Lake Erie over small and large waves. By the time we got there we were cold, tired, and ready to catch some fish. My boss, John Taylor, took us on his friend's boat, and he did all the work for us. He put all the fishing lines in the water, and began to troll for walleye.

Right away, the first walleye bit, and Jonathan was able to reel it in. Julia reeled in the second, and then soon after that, a third walleye was biting. I asked Jonathan if he wanted to reel it in, and he said, "no, thank you."

"Julia, do you want to?"
"No...when are we going home?"
"Going home??? We just got here."
So I reeled in the fish, and a few minutes later Jonathan was at the bow of the boat sleeping on a pile of coats. Julia joined him several minutes later. We rode all the way back to shore on those rough waters at full speed (probably 25 mph), and they slept through the entire thing.

We loaded up the boat onto the trailer and went home.
Jonathan wants to go out again as long as he gets to do the casting. Julia is not interested in going back ever, but she'll probably change her mind in a month or so.
