Iowa Swimming Pool

Have you ever seen a swimming pool in Iowa? Here is how it works. You turn on the sprinkler and swim through the falling water droplets (no water wings necessary).

The problem is that there is no room in Iowa to put up swimming pools…since the whole state is ONE BIG CORNFIELD! The only time they would be able to put up a swimming pool is after harvest. It turns out that it’s very cold after harvest, so setting up a pool during an Iowa winter would go over as well as a piano in the Church of Christ.

It is truly amazing how much corn there is in Iowa. As they say, “You’re never more than 5 minutes away from a cornfield.” It’s kind of like our saying in Michigan, “You’re never more than 5 minutes away from road construction, a liberal, or a pile of garbage.”

While Iowa produces mostly corn and soybeans, Waterloo (the town where Jennifer grew up) is a pretty good sized city with all the amenities (big word meaning luxuries) of a city in Michigan, but without the gunfire. The city has a mall, Walmart, Super Target, Best Buy, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and a drive thru school. What more do you need?
They also have three city-owned public golf courses. The yearly membership for all the golf you want at any of the three courses is $555.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids.

So if you're ever looking for a fun vacation spot, Iowa is chuck full of fun stuff to do.

Y'all come back now, you hear?
